I've started a new cross stitch project after finishing a smaller one, and I thought I'd share it.

I've already gotten a bit done, and I'm working on stitching the words in the middle of the pattern. It is made up of backstitches, which I will be showing you how to do below. :)

Backstitches:

Step 1:  Starting from the bottom, push the needle up a bit in front of the previous stitch.

Step 2: Pull the needle through

Step 3: Going backwards, push the needle back down where the previous stitch ended. Hope that isn't confusing.

Pull the needle through and you have a backstitch! The key is remembering to go backwards, because it is a backstitch. When doing curves, make your stitches smaller so that there aren't sharp edges.

I would be glad to, but as for now, I've put aside my cross stitch for a while, but I will certainly post updates when I do get to doing it! :)

where do you buy all of your craft supplies?

Anya, most things I have on hand - because I collect anything and everything :). I don't think I have ever bought anything from a store for a craft. Sometimes though, there will be extras from when my mom does some project, and those are usually bought at Joann. :) :)
